Former Palma High and Hartnell College hurdler Rhett Gonzalez has qualified for the NAIA Indoor National track and field championships in the 60 meter hurdles.
A senior at Southern Oregon University, Gonzalez earned a spot after clocking 8.21 seconds at the Ed Jacoby Invitational in Idaho.
Gonzalez will go into the NAIA finals ranked No. 8 in the nation. The senior was a Central Coast Section finalist in 2015 at Palma in the 110 high hurdles.
