Projected boys basketball finishes

Projected boys basketball finishes
Gabilan Division
1. Monterey: It's unfinished business for a group that felt unfulfilled last season.
2. Alisal: Wrestling that title from the Trojans won't be that simple.
3. Carmel: Perhaps a year away from dominating this division.
4. Palma: A new philosophy on the court provided similar results in the preseason.
5. Salinas: Reestablishing a different mindset under new coach Jerod Stewart.
6. Monte Vista: Equity is great, unless you're the program that could dominate another division.

Mission Division
1. Pacific Grove: Defensive minded unit that understands and relishes its roles.
2. Alvarez: Might be the most exciting team to watch in this league.
3. Seaside: Defending Pacific Division champions are looking for bigger things this year.
4. St. Francis: Depleted by graduation won't keep this program from being competitive.
5. San Benito: A program that showed glimpses of its potential in the preseason.
6. Christopher: Has four players averaging eight or more points this season.

Cypress Division
1. Stevenson: Good shooters with size make them potentially lethal in this league.
2. North County: May see the biggest turnaround of any program in league this year.
3. Gilroy: A sleeper team with a cast of unknowns that will create headaches.
4. Pajaro Valley: Overlooking this team would be a huge mistake in league.
5. Soledad: Losing 85 percent of its offense to graduation will take time to replace.
6. North Salinas: This is a program that will make noise in the second half of the season.

Santa Lucia Division
1. Watsonville: Surpassed last year's win total in the first six games of the season.
2. Greenfield: Opening the year with seven straight wins makes them a darkhorse.
3. King City: Still waiting for the potential in this program to evolve.
4. Marina: It may be in a different division. Yet, the objective is to defend its title.
5. Gonzales: There are some parts in place. Does it have enough depth?
6. Oakwood: Has won 19 or more games in four of the last six years.
