This was suppose to be a retooling season for St. Francis. Yet, a 9-2 record going into tonight's game with North County suggests otherwise.
The Sharks, who won the State Northern California Division V title in 2017, opened the season with five straight wins and have won their last three games.
North County was a team in transition last year. With seven wins, it has already surpassed last year's entire win total.
The Condors have been a resilient team this season, with two setbacks by four points or less. Dulian Morelos has provided a spark offensively for the program.
Brandon Ducusin, Jason Mellin and Joseph Bertao have shown glimpses of their scoring potential for North County (7-6), who opens up Cypress Division play Friday at Soledad.
While graduation stripped St. Francis of two all-leaguers, Andrew Seymour has evolved, leading the team in scoring along with returning starter E.J. Kelly.
St. Francis is 7-0 this year against teams from the Santa Lucia or Arroyo Division.
