A winless league season last winter meant the Condors could go nowhere but up this year.
But undefeated?
Granted the Cypress Division isn't the Gabilan Division.
Nevertheless, North County is off to a 4-0 start in the Cypress Division, and is the only undefeated team left after knocking off Gilroy last Tuesday.
The Condors, who visit North Salinas tonight, are relying on fundamentals and discipline to beat teams.
There's also a better understanding of second year head coach Patrick Kilty's offense, and the ability and confidence to finish tight games.
What's made North County lethal in league play has been its balance offensively as Dulian Morelos, Isaiah Solario and Brandon Ducusin have taken turns leading the team in scoring.
Literally.
Each has led the Condors in scoring in the teams last three games, with Morelos coming off a 23-point effort against Gilroy.
Ducusin has racked up a handful of double-doubles this season, while contributions have also come from Joseph Bertao and Jason Mellin.
With four of their last six games on the road, there will be obstacles in the Condors path. Yet, what is different now is hope of chasing a title has become an expectation.
