Carmel girls hoops

While this season's slow start didn't match last winter's horrific beginning, the Padres are seeing a similar resurgence in the second half of the season.
Owners of three straight wins, Carmel finds itself just a game out of first place in the Cypress Division behind undefeated St. Francis.
Guess who is up next for the Padres tonight?
Having won seven of its last nine overall games, Carmel sports one of the leagues most difficult player to stop in four year starter Soana Loalatu.
The senior has been a double-double machine all year in the post for the Padres, averaging over 20 points and 13 boards a night.
Tenacious on defense, Loalatu alters an opponents shot in the paint, while dominating the glass on both ends of the floor.
Yet, what has changed for Carmel in its rise to title contention has been the development of the cast surrounding Loalatu.
Ashley Langley is averaging 10 points a game in league while Chloe Bernal stepped up in the teams last game with three assists and two huge steals.
No longer are four players standing on the floor watching Loalatu make things happen.
