Greenfield boys basketball

One game never dictates a season.
Yet, what transpired Tuesday for the Bruins will likely go down as the most memorable game of the year -- perhaps in the history of the program.
Granted, it was just a non-league game.
But to exact redemption from a 62-point loss to an opponent 11 days earlier is -- well unheard off.
Humbled 81-19 by Alvarez on Dec. 28, the Bruins made some adjustments, trusted the process and went out and stunned the county with a 72-69 win.
I'd say a 65-point turnaround is a confidence builder for Greenfield going into Friday's Santa Lucia Division opener against Watsonville.
If Angel Villagomez keeps knocking down 8-of-11 from the 3-point line, the Bruins are going to be in contention for their first ever league title.
What makes Greenfield lethal is it can shoot. Oscar Villagomez and Ernie Martinez also lite up the gym on Tuesday. Angel Espinosa and Augustin Pantoja are hovering around 10 points a night.
You can't double down on one player. With 10 wins, the Bruins have more than tripled last year's entire win total. This is easily the most improved team of the year to date.
