JC conference football awards

 Hartnell College linebacker Alexis Ramos was named the Golden American Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
 The former Alisal High standout finished among the state leaders in sacks with 13 and lead Hartnell in tackles with 84.
 Also named to the conference first team defense for the Panthers was defensive lineman DeMarcus Hawkins, linebacker Chauncey Jackson and defensive back Trey Smith.
 Jackson had 12 sacks and 77 tackles while Hawkins, a Seaside High grad, compiled eight sacks and returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown. Smith had five picks and two fumble recoveries.
 Chosen to the first team offense for Hartnell was quarterback Isaiah Arriola-Randalle, who threw for a school record 4,204 yards and 36 touchdowns.
 Receivers Jeff Weimer and Daunte Moore were also first team selections along with Soledad High grad and offensive lineman David Cruz.
 Moore led the state in average receiving yards per game at 122.5, setting a school record with 1,348 receiving yards. Weimer, a Salinas High product, caught 78 passes for 1,040 yards.
 MPC running back Hunter Nye was a first team selection, along with receiver Isaiah Kearney and former King City offensive lineman Steve McEnroe and line mate Samir El Negro of Italy.
 Nye rushed for 1,375 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Lobos, and caught 34 passes for nearly 400 yards and four touchdowns. Kearney caught 52 passes for 858 yards.
 Defensively, Raymand Wingate was a first team selection for MPC as a defensive lineman along with linebacker Dalton Lykins and defensive back Denzel Hayes.
 Wingate finished with 11 sacks while Lykins led the team with 80 tackles. Hayes intercepted five passes this past fall, returning one for a touchdown.
