Saturday morning thoughts

Milestones: For the first time in the 90 plus year history of the program, Gonzales goes 10-0 in the regular season. And Payton Flores goes over 2,000 rushing yards.
Dramatics: Rallying for 15 points in the final eight minutes lifts Salinas to a 28-24 win over Aptos and a share of the Gabilan Division title.
Late game heroics: Jose Lomeli's touchdown late in the game helps Alvarez rally for a 26-23 win over Seaside.
Streaks: Gonzales has won 10 straight games. Monterey has won six straight. Palma has rattled off five consecutive wins. Soledad has a three-game winning streak.
Nervous tension: All Soledad could do was watch as a potential game winning field goal went wide right, propelling them into the postseason for the third straight year.
Numbers: Payton Flores rushes for four touchdowns for Gonzales. Teammate Raul Morales throws three scoring strikes. Poe Gaskins rushes for three touchdowns for Salinas. Angel Olivas has two touchdown catches for Soledad. Eris Hutchins and Tim Byrd score two touchdowns for Monterey. Dorian Segovia scores two touchdowns for Alisal.
