Stevenson-Marina football

Friday's game
Stevenson (0-3) vs. Marina  (2-2) at MPC, 7 p.m.
After posting the programs first ever shutouts in back-to-back games to open the season, Marina has given up 72 points in a pair of losses.
Injuries have already shaken up both teams, who don't have big rosters to begin with.
Stevenson has never lost to Marina in seven career meetings, erupting for 65 points in the teams last meeting in 2016.
After struggling to run the ball in his first two games, Honorebel Walker went over 100 yards on the ground for Stevenson last week in a 26-0 loss to Pacific Grove.
Dylan Santos has thrown for over 600 yards in the teams first three games. But he got banged up late in the loss to Pacific Grove.
Ernesto Guevara is on pace to shatter the Marina single-season record for receptions, having caught 17 passes in his first three games.
Quarterback Michael Barrera has been efficient for the Mariners, throwing for nearly 500 yards and four touchdown passes, all four to Guevara.
A concern for the Mariners has to be lapses in the second quarter, having allowed 33 points in their last two games. Stevenson has scored 20 of its 35 points in the second quarter.
