Marissa Bruno

Hitting just .174 ten games into the season, sophomore Marissa Bruno tore up pitching over the Portland State softball teams final 42 games, raising her average over 150 points, finishing with a .340 mark.

The slap-hitting left-handed swinging Bruno was third on the team in hits with 43, and third in runs scored with 27.
 
 She was also six of seven in stolen bases, drove in 13 runs out of the leadoff spot, and put together a seven game hitting streak. Bruno hit .500 in her last eight games.

Bruno sported a .971 fielding percentage in the outfield for Portland State. A four year starter at Santa Catalina, Bruno was a two-time member of The Herald’s All-County softball team.
