Carter Aldrete

The sophomore third baseman has raised his batting average to .292 for the Arizona State baseball team, moving within one run batted in of tying last year’s total of 31.

The former Monterey standout is third on the Sun Devils in runs batted in (30), and is fourth on the team in average, walks (22), hits (52), and runs scored (26).

He’s also ripped nine doubles and sports a .938 fielding percentage in 42 starts at third base.

Chosen in the 37th round of Major League Baseball's Amateur Draft out of Monterey in 2016, Aldrete was a four-year starter, earning a spot on The Herald’s All-County Baseball team twice. He was also the Toreadores starting quarterback as a sophomore and junior.
