Central Coast Section Division II Semifinals
Wednesday's game
No. 13 Christopher (14-12) vs. No. 1 Soledad (23-5) at San Jose Municipal Stadium, 4 p.m.
The argument about whether the Mission Trail Athletic League champion Aztecs No. 1 seed was deserving or not has quieted now, as they are one win away from playing for a title.
This is just the second time in the programs 18 year history that Soledad has reached the Division II semifinals.
Owners of 15 straight wins, the Aztecs pitching has been outstanding in the postseason, allowing just one run in wins over Prospect and Saratoga.
Andru Holquin will likely get the start Wednesday for Soledad, as he's 8-0 on the season, including a two-hit complete game win against Prospect.
Christopher closed the Gabilan Division season with a rush, winning four of its final five games to get the last automatic spot in that division.
It has outscored two postseason opponents 17-4, avenging a late season loss to Gilroy with an 11-2 beating in the quarterfinals.
Soledad was aggressive on the base paths in producing three late inning runs to beat Saratoga. Ben Pajas has been clutch all season for them at the plate
This is the first known meeting between the two schools.

The argument should be why they are still playing the semifinal games in San Jose. Shorter drive for the 13th seed. Takes away home field advantage. Lets see them play with that wind in Soledad.
