Former Hartnell College distance ace Diego Leon will compete next weekend in the NCAA Division I indoor track and field championships in the 1,500 meters in College State, Texas.

The Montana State junior, who has dipped under the four-minute barrier twice this spring in the mile, is ranked 13th in the nation in the 1,500 at 3:35.37.

Leon, who prepped at Anzar High, reached the state championships for Hartnell in both cross country and track, earning All-American honors.
