Seaside volleyball

Health reasons forced Vince Rosa to step away from coaching last season.
But the long time volleyball coach is back.
And so are the Spartans, who visit Gilroy today.
Having already more than doubled last year's entire win total, Seaside's place in the Pacific Division could be brief.
Last year was humbling for the Spartans, who were swept in 10 of their 12 league matches.
While this is virtually the same team this fall, it's a year older, wiser and better with Rosa working his magic.
Maura White has become a leader at the setters position, igniting an offense that includes Hailee Suber at the net.
Yet, it's the Spartans defense, anchored by Brittany Aledo and Ruby Gonzalez, that has solidified this team -- a signature of Rosa.
