Salinas football

When the Cowboys were sitting at 1-3 to start the season, no one panicked.
Frustration?
Absolutely.
Salinas had lost one game in the final 7.2 seconds and another in the last 9.2 seconds -- to two teams that were reigning section champions.
Yet, no one stopped believing. And no one stopped trusting one another.
Today the Cowboys have a share of the programs first league title in 12 years, closing the regular season with a 5-1 mark.
The biggest difference with this Salinas team is it's an unselfish group that believes in 'we' instead of 'I'.
No one deserves this title more than head coach Steve Goodbody, who has challenged his program over the years with brutal non-league schedules.
That non-league schedule this fall catapulted Salinas into uncharted waters.
