North Salinas-Salinas football

Friday's game
North Salinas (2-6) at Salinas (5-4), 7:30 p.m.
The 10th playoff team from 2013 in 10 games won't be the last postseason team Salinas faces this year.
The Cowboys are headed to the playoffs for the seventh straight year, ignoring arguably one of the strongest schedules in the section this fall.
With a bye coming up in Week 11, Salinas is looking for momentum going into the playoffs, where it could be the top seed in Division I this year with a win tonight.
Last week the Cowboys made a statement with a 52-point uprising over Alvarez. Bruce Leighton is a handful of yards shy of rushing for 1,000 this season.
Underrated quarterback Zach McDermott has thrown for over 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns for Salinas, and has rushed for nearly 500 yards and 10 touchdowns.
After a 2-0 start, the Vikings have struggled in their return to the Gabilan Division, having dropped six straight games.
