The Eagles believed before the year started that the season finale with Palma would decide the league title.
Well, that's partially true.
While Alvarez can't win the title, it can prevent Palma from a potential share of a 29th league title by beating them.
It would also enhance their playoff position in Division I.
While the win over San Benito earlier this year was a signature win for Alvarez, giving up 52 in a loss to Salinas the following week left a scar.
Can you really learn more from a loss than a win?
Alvarez has never beaten Palma. Then again, it's never been this talented. But talent won't decide this regular season finale. Discipline will.
