Since struggling through a 1-5 stretch in late December, the Cowboys have found that cohesiveness on the court, having rattled off four straight wins.
One of three teams still unbeaten in the Monterey Bay League's Gabilan Division, Salinas will face the other two this week, starting tonight by hosting Monte Vista.
Behind Myckenzie Toler and Donatella MacLeod. the Mustangs, who won the Pacific Division title last year, have been one of the highest scoring teams in the league.
Both teams also play stingy defense as Salinas has allowed just 34.5 points in league play while the Mustangs have given up an average of 38.5 points.
Monte Vista has lost just three games this year -- by a total of 10 points
