Hartnell College tailback DeAndre Mann has been named to the All-American Community College football team.
Mann is the first Hartnell player to be named All-American since current Tampa Bay lineman Carl Nicks was chosen eight years ago.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Mann led the state in rushing with a Hartnell school record 1,706 yards this past year, averaging 155.1 yards per game.
Mann, who has an offer on the table from Purdue University, also led the state in scoring with a school record 30 touchdowns. The sophomore caught 27 passes for 331 yards, going over 2,000 offensive yards.
Teammate Anthony Smithson has verbally committed to the University of Kansas after intercepting eight passes for 214 yards, leading the Panthers with 78 tackles.

Coach Collins does a great job recruiting out of the area. That is the big difference between him and Coach Rasmussen. Coach Ras makes it his priority to recruit the area and Coach Collins would rather get kids from the East Coast. I think both coaches do a great job of getting kids to the next level.
