Going bowling

With the college bowl season kicking off today, a handful of former local standouts will either be in uniform or coaching gear during the Christmas Holidays.
Among them is former Seaside High defensive back and Hartnell College assistant coach LeCharls McDaniel, who is the receivers coach for San Diego State.
The Aztecs face Buffalo today in the Idaho Potato Bowl. McDaniel was a member of the Cal Poly, SLO championship football team in 1980 and won a Super Bowl ring with the Redskins in 1982.
Salinas High graduate Al Borges is the offensive coordinator for the University of Michigan, who will face Kansas State on Dec. 28 in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.
Former North Salinas High and Hartnell College center Nick Nunez starts on the offensive line for Middle Tennessee State, who faces Navy on Dec. 30 in the Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.
Palma High product Jack Powers is a freshman defensive lineman at Arizona State, who faces Texas Tech on Dec. 30 in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
A teammate of the 6-foot-6, 270 pound Powers is Monte Vista Christian grad Taylor Cohan, who Is a backup redshirt freshman quarterback.

Do college bowling teams play 10 pin bowling ever? I just recently found out that it even existed! It sounds fascinating to me so I'll have to see if I can find a place to try it out.
