Saturday's game
MPC (4-5) vs. Hartnell (7-2) at Rabobank Stadium, 6 p.m.
How fitting that these two long time rivals are playing for a share of the conference title for the third straight year.
The Panthers already have a share of their third straight Coast Conference title at 4-0.
However, last year the scenarios were similar. Not only did the Lobos knock off Hartnell for a share of the title, but they also got the bowl bid.
DeAndre Mann has been on a mission this year for the Panthers, needing 167 yards to break the single season school record for rushing yards. Mann leads the state in touchdowns with 25.
Curt Ceralde has taken a majority of the snaps behind center in the Coast Conference season, finding Da'Quan Smith as one of his favorite targets.
Whether it's Andrew Loudenback or James Lovato winging it for MPC, three of their favorite targets have been David Hightower, Joseph Jakubowsky and Jordan Borne.
Both teams are coming off season highs for points, with Hartnell erupting for 70 points last week while the Lobos dropped 48.
