If there was a team that needed a few days off, it was the Spirits after dropping their final two league matches to Gabilan Division champion Salinas and surging San Benito.
Notre Dame also got a first hand glimpse of Mercy, who swept MTAL tri-champion Santa Catalina on Wednesday.
While the Skippers are not intimidating with their size, they simply do not let balls hit the ground. Don't be mislead by their stature on the court. A lot of those kids can jump out of the gym.

Notre Dame's power is on the outside with Emily Cunanan and Nikki DeSerpa taking passes from Erin DeSerpa.
How well the Spirits perform on defense will dictate how far they advance in their bid for the programs first CCS title in seven years.
