Having attended 121 49ers games at The Stick, I've got a few memories stored in the bank to share over the 17 week regular season as the days of Candlestick Park are coming to a close.
On their way to another postseason appearance, the 49ers tuned up for the playoffs on Dec. 3, 1995 in a Sunday Night Football battle with Jim Kelly and the Buffalo Bills.
A shootout was anticipated. And while Kelly and Steve Young put on an aerial show, it was the 49ers defense that came to the rescue and salvaged a 27-17 win.
With Buffalo inside the 49ers 5-yard line late in the fourth quarter and down by three, Lee Woodall picked up a fumble at the 4-yard line and took off 96 yards for a touchdown to secure the win.
The noise level was piercing as the ghosts of Candlestick Park came out to haunt the Bills and provide just another memorable evening at The Stick.
