Salinas has lost the services of quarterback Junior Cortez for the rest of the season after the senior tore his ACL in a non-contact drill in practice.
Cortez, who rushed for six touchdowns and tossed four last year, looked sharp in the jamboree for Salinas last week.
His loss will have an impact in what the Cowboys do tonight against Atascadero.
