Future of Alvarez player

Alvarez tailback David Perez will have a hearing with Central Coast Section officials early next month in an effort to regain his eligibility status.
Perez, who is a junior, was given a two-year ban from all high school sports by the CCS for filling out improper paper work after transferring back to Alvarez from a high school in San Diego.
Perez, who attended North Salinas as a freshman before transferring to Alvarez in 2009 as a sophomore, rushed for 365 yards in one game last year at Alvarez.
If Perez were to regain his eligibility status, who could be back in uniform for the Tri-County Athletic League season.
But very few of these hearings ever get completely overturned. The best case scenario is likely a reduced suspension.
