Why does Pacific Grove tend to struggle at home? It's given up 128 points in its last two home games. I understand the program is in transition. But even during its run of eight straight playoff appearances, it lost two playoff games at home.
I think it's clear Salinas misses quarterback Junior Cortez. He provided speed to the outside on the option. But the Cowboys can't just keep pounding it up the middle.
Can North Salinas eliminate the mental mistakes that's cost them their first two games? If they want to be in this game with CCS Large School champion Miliptas, there is no room for growing pains.
I'd like to see Greenfield find one worthy non-league opponent. Beating up three teams may build confidence, but it won't prepare them for Carmel in next week's MTAL opener.
