A viewer, who wished not to be identified in his email, brought up an interesting point.
Why are sports programs at schools like Alvarez, Soledad and Gonzales struggling in nearly every sport — every year?
Is it coaching? Is it attitude? Is it commitment, or a lack of it?
Some of it could be coaching. There are certain sports on all three campuses that just can't seem to keep a coach beyond a year.
Attitude is a big part of it. Losing snowballs. It doesn't matter what your enrollment is. Losing tends to keep kids from competing.
But commitment might be the biggest issue. How do you get an athlete to commit when they see a new coach each season?
