The Kansas City Chiefs hired a new general manager today.
NFL sources have said head coach Herm Edwards will soon be out of a job.
Here's my question:
If you know you're likely going in another direction, why leave Edwards twisting in the wind?
There are still three vacancies in the NFL. Give him a shot to grab one of those, or at least a coordinator position.
By the Chiefs holding Edwards hostage, you're keeping him from finding employment.
Of course, don't feel too sorry for Edwards, a one-time Monterey High legend. He has a year left on his contract that pays him well over a million dollars.
And I suppose there's a possibility that Edwards could be retained. But realistically, when you're 6-26 over the last two years, your days are numbered.

I agree. But can you think of a better commentator for the pre-game and post-game network broadcasts? Take a year off Herm. Collect your million from the Chiefs and get another million from Fox or CBS.
