Everyone is excited about Monta Ellis returning to the Golden State Warriors lineup.
Why?
The team is 10-27 and 20 games behind the Lakers.
Golden State is going to miss the playoffs for the 13th time in 14 years.
Oh, Ellis will help, although it'll likely take the shooting guard a full year to recover from ankle surgery.
But this team has lots of holes. It doesn't have a point guard or a true power forward.
You can't win in the NBA trying to outscore teams. Don Nelson still hasn't learned that.
No doubt, the Warriors will entertain you and then fall in the fourth quarter. That's getting old.
I've got two suggestions.
Fire Nelson and change the name Golden State.
No one wants to be linked to Oakland. So call them the San Francisco Warriors of Oakland. That's what they do in Anaheim with baseball Angels. And remember this was San Francisco's franchise before it moved to Oakland in the mid 1970's.
