North Salinas football coach Steve Zenk was honored Sunday at the 49ers-Jets game as a finalist for High School Football Coach of the Year.
Zenk took North Salinas to its first league title in 25 years. And his team had a collective grade point average of just under 3.0.
Just two years ago, the Vikings were winless in league play.
