Why is C.C. Sabathia even a topic of discussion with the Giants?
Because he grew up in Vallejo?
Pitching is not the Giants' concern. Signing another left-handed hurler for $100-plus million makes no sense.
Didn't the Giants learn from Barry Zito? Sabathia and his 260-plus-pound frame have thrown over 7,000 pitches the last two years.
Unless he can hit 20 home runs (which maybe he could), I don't see the need to add a sixth starter to the rotation, unless someone will take Zito.
The Giants need a spark at the top of the batting order and a power plug in the middle.
And for all those hacks who keep writing that Sabathia would take a home town discount to stay in the Bay Area — well, he's building a home in Orange County.
