If you believe Dan, the math is pretty simple for King City.
If it wants to extend its playoff run to 26 straight years, it has to beat Carmel tonight, which insures them of no worse than second place in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
A tall task, considering Carmel swept King City in its first meeting.
Then again, the Mustangs were swept at Santa Catalina before returning the favor in King City. In fact, King City hasn't lost a league match at home all season.
King City and Carmel are tied for second in the MTAL. Carmel is a lock, regardless of the results.
