Gilroy self-destruction

It was more than a loss for previously unbeaten Gilroy.
At halftime, one player quit the team. And with a little less than five minutes remaining in the game, another player took his uniform off and walked off the sidelines. His loss will impact the passing game.
This doesn't include the two players that are likely gone for the season with injuries and another, who had to go to the hospital.
Was the pressure that enormous? Or did this team just self-destruct?
