The status of Stevenson's season is in jeopardy after just 12 players were deemed healthy enough to practice Friday.
In fact, the Pirates will make a decision Saturday morning on whether they'll play Soledad or forfeit the game. A decision on the season — which has six games left — could be forthcoming in the coming weeks.
What is not a consideration is bringing up a handful of kids from the junior varsity, which has 41 players — 22 of which are sophomores — and is undefeated.
Apparently parents have balked at moving their kids up. Understood. But I know there are more than 13 seniors and five juniors on campus — players that started the year on the football team.
As seniors, what do you have to lose, other than your season? Running back Dan Griffin believes there's at least seven seniors that could help this team that aren't playing. Hit the hallways and save your season.
