playoff implications

Perhaps.
But the implications are heating up now.
Alisal and Salinas, who meet Friday at The Pit, are both 3-3. I believe the winner of this game makes the playoffs and the loser will need help.
Four teams from the Tri-County Athletic League will make the playoffs. Bank on North Salinas, Gilroy and Palma. That leaves one likely opening.
Keep in mind that Salinas has lost three games to teams with a combined 14-1 record. It has already fallen to Palma and Gilroy.
One other game of interest is Greenfield hosting King City. It's conceivable that a third team from the Mission Trail Athletic League will make the playoffs.
Both teams have a league loss. Two might be to many. Playing a nine-game schedule -- assuming Greenfield cancels its game with Stallworth -- could benefit the Bruins.
