tracksters patience being tested

Two months of training and still no meet.
What gives?
For a lot of track and field athletes, their first meet may not be until April 3 when two leagues begin dual meet competition.
That's TOO long for any teenager to wait before he competes.
Granted, Easter Break came early this year.
Still, schedule a meet or two in March. You can't ask athletes to train for eight weeks without some reward.
I can't imagine this is leaving a positive impression on athletes trying the sport for the first time.
