Woodside-Seaside football

Friday's game
Woodside (0-3) at Seaside (3-0), 7:30 p.m.
The Wildcats have struggled out the gate this fall, having been outscored 127-50, giving up 61 points in a loss to Carlmont in Week 2.
Woodside has been ineffective throwing ball, completing just 37 percent of its attempts while tossing six interceptions. It did change quarterbacks last week.
Josh Peterson went over 100 yards rushing in Week 2 for the Wildcats -- 56 yards on one carry, but was bottled up last week, held to 18 yards in a loss to Leigh.
The Spartans defense is recreating the past with their physicality, allowing just two touchdowns in 12 quarters of play.
Dylan Olivares had a pair of sacks and an interception in last weeks win over Christopher. The front seven is shutting down opponents' ground attack.
Offensively, Seaside is still a work in progress as it strives for balance. With that massive offensive line, runners are getting five yards down field before being touched. It's a recipe for dominance.
Forgive Seaside if it's playing with a chip on its shoulder. It's not their fault that the combined record for their opponents this year is 0-12. One was a reigning state champ. Another went to the playoffs.
