Mission Prep-Greenfield football

Thursday's game
Mission Prep (0-2) at Greenfield (0-2), 5 p.m.
The Royals went 8-0 last year in eight-man football, and 3-0 in 11-man football, including a 31-7 decision over Greenfield.
Mission Prep, who is playing a full 11-man football schedule this fall, has manufactured 20 points in both losses, including a nail biting one-point decision to Kern Valley last week.
Humbled in its opener, Greenfield was down by just eight in the third quarter last week before giving up the final 19 points in a 33-6 loss to King City.
The offensive issues that hindered the Bruins through their first three games last fall have resurfaced, having scored just 13 points in two games -- scoreless in the first half.
Falling behind early is forcing Greenfield to alter its game plan. Players are pressing to get it all back at once.
There was movement in a positive direction for Greenfield, as Antonio Chiquito chalked up 89 yards on the ground, while Ivan Torres added a 20-yard touchdown run.
Jose Hernandez has been a bright spot with eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. Miguel Hernandez has recorded a pair of sacks and eight tackles in two games.
