Marina-James Lick football

Friday's game
Marina (0-2) at James Lick (1-1), 6 p.m.
Cleaning up their deficiencies on defense has to be a priority this week for the Mariners, who have allowed 94 points in two games.
Granted Marina has fallen to two teams that are a combined 5-0 this fall. Now it faces a program that produced 41 points in a season opening win, before falling 49-0 to Gunn last week.
Osiris Zamudio rushed for four touchdowns in the season opening win for the Comets and combined with Somar Ramirez for 134 yards on the ground.
The Mariners offense provided moments last week, with Michael Barrera throwing for 112 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 73 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Danh Le went over 100 yards rushing for Marina while Anthony Garcia caught three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Marina is still looking for its first points in the first quarter, as it has been outscored 26-0 in the first 12 minutes.
This is the first meeting between the two teams. James Lick, who is based in San Jose, has not won more than two games in a season since 2013.
