Lynbrook-Stevenson football

Saturday's game
Lynbrook (0-2) at Stevenson (0-1), 2 p.m.
It's been a rough start for the Vikings, who have been outscored 90-7 in their first two games. One of those setbacks was to Harbor, who snapped a 19-game losing streak.
The last time Stevenson faced Lynbrook, it shut them out 49-0 in 2016, enroute to earning a spot in the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.
Stevenson absorbed a 33-24 loss to Webb in the heat of southern California -- producing touchdowns four different ways, but converting no extra points.
The reality is the Pirates had one bad stretch in their season opener against Webb, in which they were outscscored 16-6 in the second quarter -- the difference in the game.
Sophomore Evan Johnson produced 160 yards on two possessions for the Pirates, returning a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and catching a 70-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Santos.
Elusive in the open field with sprinters speed, more touches could be forthcoming for Johnson, who came up last year as a freshman.
While Stevenson's defense produced a touchdown with a fumble recovery, it also allowed 253 yards through the air. And its short yardage defense gave up four rushing touchdowns.
