Coast Union-Trinity football

Saturday's game
Coast Union (1-0) vs. Trinity (1-0) at Pacific Grove High, 11 a.m.
The Warriors got a measure of redemption in a season opening 58-12 win over Laton. Now comes Coast Union, who rolled to a 55-8 win over Laguna Blanca last week.
Last season the two teams engaged in a Week 5 shootout with Trinity securing a 47-42 win at Coast Union.
The Broncos will present problems for Trinity with a potent running game and the play action, where quarterback Emanuel Plasencia was effective in rolling out.
Trinity mixed the run and pass last week, with junior quarterback Chase Perez completing all 10 of his passes for 148 yards, while rushing for three touchdowns.
Perez connected with six different receivers in the game. Alex Cabanilla chalked up 144 yards on the ground for the Warriors.
The 12 points Trinity allowed last week was its lowest total since 2017. Mario Perez is coming off a nine tackle effort while Nick Furman had six tackles and knocked down three passes.
