Carter Aldrete

Showing a knack for being patient at the plate, Carter Aldrete has walked 27 times in nearly 200 at bats between two minor league stops for the San Francisco Giants.

Drafted in the 15th round by the Giants out of Arizona State, the 6-foot-2 right-hander is hitting .258 with four homers and 23 runs batted in, scoring 20 runs.

An outfielder last spring at Arizona State, Aldrete is playing second base for the Giants Class A team in Salem, where a quarter of his hits have gone for extra bases.

A four year starting shortstop while at Monterey High, Aldrete started at three different positions in three years at Arizona State, playing right field last spring.
