Alvarez-North Salinas football

Friday's game
Alvarez (1-1) vs. North Salinas (0-2) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
The Eagles are one defensive stop away from being undefeated instead of 1-1, while North Salinas is searching for an identity after falling by 64 points to Salinas last week.
Last fall the two teams engaged in a defensive battle with the Vikings making two touchdowns in the first half stand up in a 14-6 win.
The first half has been a nightmare for North Salinas this fall, having been outscored 73-6. Last year it gave up 79 points in the first half all season.
Alvarez erased a 14-7 deficit last week against Alisal by producing the games final 21 points, taking some of the sting of failing to hold a late fourth quarter lead in its opener.
Braden Arriaga-Lopez has produced six touchdowns in two games for the Eagles, with five coming on the ground. Frank Rocha has rushed for a pair.
If I'm North Salinas, I'm not putting any stock into the loss to Salinas. Rather, the focus should be on fixing the little things that saw them fall by a touchdown in its opener to North County.
The Vikings Izaiah Orozco runs hard, while quarterback Allen Birruete can be a factor when he's not running for his life.
