In two seasons at the University of San Diego, tailback Emilio Martinez has chalked up 1,743 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, averaging 5.3 yards each time he touches the ball.
A two-time all conference second team selection, Martinez is coming off a season in which he caught a career high 47 passes for 448 yards and four touchdowns.
Palma's all-time leading rusher, the 5-foot-9 Martinez has compiled 2,998 all-purpose yards for the Toreros, with 23 touchdowns.
Martinez shattered the Palma school rushing record as a senior in 2016 with 2,482 yards and 39 touchdowns, earning The Herald's Offensive Player of the Year award.
