Central Coast Section Open Division Semifinals

No. 3 St. Francis (23-5) vs. No. 2 Notre Dame (23-3) at Los Gatos High, 4:30 p.m.
 Champions of the West Catholic Athletic League, the defending Open Division champion Lancers opened the tournament with a 9-2 win over Santa Teresa.
 Notre Dame used a two-run single from Meghan Amaral in the sixth inning to break up a 2-2 tie in a 4-2 win over Silver Creek.
 Owners of 16 Central Coast Section divisional titles, the Spirits have rattled off 13 consecutive non-tournament wins.
  Hannah Damore is a dangerous hitter for St. Francis, having hit eight home runs with 32 runs batted in. Teammate Jessica Oakland hit .448 with 33 RBI.
 Lauren Baker won 18 games in the circle for the Lancers, striking out 148 hitters in 128 innings this spring.
 The Spirits put up fantasy type numbers in winning the Gabilan Division this year, hitting .404 as a team with 33 home runs.
 While seven starters are either freshmen or sophomores, the lone senior on the roster is Amaral, who is hitting .385 with six homers and 31 runs batted in.
 Freshman Victoria Cervantes is hitting a team high .488 for Notre Dame with eight home runs, while sophomore Angelica Fuentes has nine homers, 40 RBI and a .445 batting average.
 Coming off a nine-strikeout, four-hitter, freshman hurler Samantha Rocha has collected 21 wins this spring with a 1.42 earned run average, striking out 166 in 135 innings.
