Carmel-Monterey boys hoops

While it wasn't part of the plan, both teams have had an entire week to gear up for this battle.
Poor weather forced the postponement of games earlier in the week.
Idle time isn't always good when you're in a rhythm, which is what Carmel and the Toreadores were in based on impressive season openers.
Both went on the road and dominated their opponents. Both are polar opposites of each other.
Monterey prefers a blistering pace on the court, applying pressure on defense with hopes of turning turnovers into transition baskets.
The Padres can run as well. Clearly they're a better unit when running their offense inside to 6-foot-5 sophomore J.T. Byrne, who is averaging over 20 points a game.
Bryne has a pair of sidekicks knocking down baskets on the perimeter in Kai Lee and Joe Garello, and a defensive demon who can score on occasion in Zach DeZee.
Monterey's fab four includes reigning Gabilan Division co-Player of the Year Mohammed Adam, who is again putting up MVP type numbers at just under 18 points a night.
For as much as the Toreadores like to run and create havoc on the court, they have sizzled from the outside as well.
Adam, Tajhae Ordonio, Mohanid Adam, Suheil Ibrahim and Kenny Garrard have combined for 119 3-point goals.
Containing Bryne is a priority for the Toreadores, where four-year starter Evans Charles will likely draw the assignment in man defense.
