Soquel-Greenfield football

Friday's game
Soquel (5-3) at Greenfield (3-6), 7:30 p.m.
Having had no bye week over the first nine weeks of the season means this is the Bruins final game of the year, marking the earliest a team has concluded a 10-game football season.
Since an 0-4 start, Greenfield has gone 3-2 over the last five weeks, with one of those losses being a one-point setback to Stevenson.
Jaime Soto went over 1,000 yards rushing last week for the Bruins, while throwing a touchdown pass in a loss to undefeated Gonzales.
Soquel has put together a nice bounce back season at 3-1 in the Santa Lucia Division, having won its last three games, including an overtime decision against Stevenson.
Darius Bedford has carried a bulk of the load in the backfield for the Knights while Tanner Jones has had moments at quarterback.
During its three-game winning streak, Soquel has allowed just 27 points. The program is coached by former NFL defensive back Dwight Lowery, who played 10 seasons in the NFL.
Greenfield has outscored opponents 50-37 in the third quarter. The problem is it's often playing from behind, having been outscored 70-35 in the second quarter.
