At some point, it's going to become a topic of conversation around the state.
You can't keep a streak like this under wraps forever.
Dating back to last year, Palma quarterback Grant Sergent has not thrown an interception in his last 279 attempts -- or 15 straight games.
During that span, the senior has thrown for 2,338 yards and 25 touchdowns for the Chieftains, who are 12-3.
"He's playing really well right now," said Palma coach Jeff Carnazzo, after Sergent went 12-of-19 for 219 yards and three touchdowns in virtually one half last Friday.
How about the last 15 games?
A surgeon on the field, Sergent has done a good job in disguising his throws, unafraid to look at his second and third options, buying time with his vision to escape the pocket.
As the season has progressed and chemistry with a virtual new set of receivers has evolved, Sergent's percentage has improved, completing 37-of-54 in his last three games.
How this translates in meaningful games is what matters. And Palma has a pair of big games coming up when it closes the season with Aptos and San Benito.
Right now there's a quite sense of confidence that if you stack the box to stop the Chieftains ground game, Sergent is going to pick opponents apart through the air.
