Marina volleyball

Having tied the single-season school record for wins, the Mariners now have their eyes targeted on the potential of an undefeated league season and first ever league title.
Defeating Oakwood on the road earlier this week in five sets was the biggest win in school history. Marina was 0-10 lifetime against them, having taken just one set.
An historical season has the Mariners in uncharted waters with five matches left in the Santa Lucia Division, including a rematch with Oakwood at home.
This isn't a team that relies on one individual to dominate at the net. Instead, it's a defensive group that keeps balls in play and forces opponents to make mistakes.
Jocelyn Comabig, Paulina Sanchez and Ileana Fonseca have been dynamic on defense all season, combining for 48 digs in the five-set thriller at Oakwood.
The trio are all over 100 digs on the season for Marina, while Elicie Leuma-Burks has led the team in kills most of the season, paring with Thu Vo in a dual set attack.
The strength of the Mariners is their depth. All nine players see the court and contribute night in and night out, turning this season into a magical ride.
