King City-Pacific Grove football

Friday's game
King City (3-4) at Pacific Grove (3-4), 7:30 p.m.
Despite their recent two-game slid, the Mustangs are not out of the postseason picture, particularly if San Lorenzo Valley (6-1 minus the four forfeits) upsets Monterey.
The potential for a three-way tie at the top of the Mission Division could exist with two games left in the season.
Of course, King City has got to get back on its own feet after having been outscored 71-13 in its last two games to two teams a combined 13-1.
Turnovers have been a thorn in the Mustangs side in their four losses this year, having given it up 17 times, including four more in last week's setback to Gonzales.
After coming up with its best offensive performance two weeks ago, Pacific Grove put together its best defensive effort last week.
While both games did not translate to wins, the feeling is the program is headed in the right direction in its rebuilding process.
The Breakers expect to have tailback Anthony DaSilva back this week, which moves multi-talented Blake Moore back out to receiver.
King City went with a different quarterback last week with mixed results in Jonah Mendez. Alex Valdez did provide a splash on the defensive side with a pick six last week.
